Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) mapping has lately been a conversation item on key industry engagements. Recent advancements in LiDAR mapping systems and their enabling technologies allow scientists, engineers and mapping professionals to examine natural and built environments across a wide range of scales with greater accuracy, precision, and flexibility than ever before.

Our aerial LiDAR solution is powered the Leica ALS60 Laser Scanner and complimented by RCD30 camera. This solution is mainly suited for projects that require a wide range of scales with greater accuracy, precision, and flexibility than what imagery alone may not offer.

LiDAR data is mainly used for generating Digital Elevation Models (Terrain and Surface), hillshade, drape and contours. The 3D models and representations which are direct derivatives of LiDAR data have direct applications in:

  • Engineering planning and design
  • Transportation planning and design
  • Floodplain mapping
  • Erosion/Deformation mapping and monitoring
  • Land use planning and mapping
  • Volumetric studies
  • Urban mapping and planning
